Bleeding Control & Traumatic Injuries Course

Uncontrolled bleeding is one of the leading causes of preventable death. This Stop the Bleed course teaches you how to act fast and take control of a bleeding emergency — using tourniquets, wound packing, and direct pressure — until professional help arrives. We will also go more in depth and cover traumatic injuries, and how we as a layperson can respond and help someone with specific traumatic injuries. These can range from problems with the airway, respirations, heat and cold emergencies, and also reassessing of patients and tools used.

• Based on the national Stop the Bleed® program
• Hands-on tourniquet and wound packing training
• In depth traumatic injuries lesson included with skills beyond STOP THE BLEED® utilizing criteria from TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care)
• Instruction on other traumatic injuries and how to try and prevent those injuries from becoming fatal
• Completion certificate included from STOP THE BLEED® given at the end of the class
• Class length: 4-5 hours
